Photographic collection

A journey through our identity

Historical and Contemporary Photographs

Discover the port through images

The AGP Museum is working on the creation of a photographic collection composed with more than 2,500 contemporary and historical images. With the  collaboration of the National General Archive (AGN) and the Buenos Aires Museum (MBA), over 250 black and white images have been recovered, digitized in high resolution, and restored by the AGP. This collection represents significant fragments of the collective narrative of our port identity, transporting us to the vicissitudes of life in the port ,between the present and the past, and paying homage to those  workers who have contributed to the country’s growth for centuries.

The conservation and creation of this documentary collection, as well as the transmission of its symbolic capital to the rest of the citizenship, are undoubtedly our  main objectivesin  this project, seeking the exploration, learning, and connection between the present and the past in an accessible way to the entire community.
